Reportedly, Obama is considering former GOP Congressman Tom Davis to be his new cyberczar. It strikes me as the height of stupidity to put a guy with a history of politicizing email in charge of the nation’s cybersecurity.

Tom Davis supports Waxman’s report that Bush improperly invoked executive privilege to protect the Cheney interview materials. But I think he was just helping the Bush Administration sustain its firewall protecting Bush’s involvement in the outing of Valerie Plame.

Tom Davis has some interesting things about how to save the Republican party. But as I read it, I kept thinking about how Davis retired this year because he couldn’t risk running in his suburban DC district filled with a bunch of defense contractors and other government employees.
