The Crooks Trying to Bail-Out Alberto Gonzales

By: emptywheel Friday December 3, 2010 1:44 pm

Let me start by stating that the words “legal” and “trust” don’t belong on a letterhead with Alberto Gonzales’ name blazoned at the top. The Powell Endorsement

By: emptywheel Sunday October 19, 2008 6:59 am

As reported, Colin Powell just endorsed Obama, calling him a “transformational figure.” He listed several reasons for his choice:Obama’s response to the economic meltdownObama’s ability to reach all classes, races, and parties Obama’s rhetorical ability and his substanceMcCain’s erratic response to the economic crisisPalin’s lack of preparedness for the PresidencyMcCain’s smearsThe wingnuttia of the Republican PartySCOTUS (he’s probably thinking about all the anti-torture decisions)The attacks on Muslims (he mentions a Muslim

By: emptywheel Saturday October 18, 2008 12:19 pm

By: emptywheel Thursday April 10, 2008 3:05 pm

Remember the Torture Tapes?

By: emptywheel Thursday April 10, 2008 7:14 am

ABC’s story on the detailed briefings the Principals’ committee received on the torture of top detainees seems designed to focus the attention of the torture tape inquiry on the top lawyers in the Administration who had a motive to approve the destruction of the torture tapes.

Dougie’s Rant

By: emptywheel Sunday March 9, 2008 6:34 am

Dougie Feith apparently has a 900-page book coming out, trying to damage Colin Powell’s legacy for the ages. And Karen DeYoung and Thomas Ricks can barely contain their amusement.
