whoa 5 month investigation

Low Road to High Finance: McClatchy Expose Reveals How Goldman Sachs Sold Off Billions in Mortgage Securities After Anticipating Housing Collapse
Gordongs-web

A five-month investigation by McClatchy Newspapers has revealed that Goldman Sachs made secret bets against the housing market while simultaneously selling off billions in soon-to-be worthless securities. In 2006 and 2007, the bank reportedly peddled more than $40 billion in securities backed by at least 200,000 risky home mortgages, but never told the buyers it was secretly betting that a sharp drop in US housing prices would send the value of those securities plummeting. We speak to McClatchy reporter Greg Gordon. [includes rush transcript]

9/11

There we go! You knew the Rethugs would mention it eventually. I wonder whether there is a Giuliani Syndrome (a variant of Tourrette Syndrome) that disproportionately afflicts Republicans.

Unaware of DOJ either suggestion or consideration of applying minimization reqts to NSLs as part of good faith effort to refine NSL

I guess Lungren's also unaware of Bernie Madoff suggesting or considering that jailing him would be part of a good faith effort to refine securities regulation.

How can we limit when we know it relates to agent of foreign power.

And we know that how? Isn't that what articulable fact means? So you're going to allow an unarticulable non-fact to justify an NSL?

Sheesh, whatever happened to the English language in Congress?

The GOP Motto. Couldn't have said it better myself.
