I tried whipping it out many years ago in a civil forfeiture case that was attendant to a cocaine conspiracy case I represented a client on. That kind of forfeiture is really almost quasi-criminal in the way it is structured and the way it is initiated. Couldn't even get ex post facto applied to that situation. Heh, join the club.
