His core operative principle is to make everyone happy. He wants everyone to be happy. Thus, the bipartisan unity schtick. The insistence that 80 is the new 60. The whole muddle that people persuaded themselves was 11-dimensional Vulcan chess mastery. And, speaking solely for myself and addressing my small contribution to the effort, while a lot of my commentary and analysis literally did come from a basement office, I was fueled by coffee and potato chips.
