Richard Shelby, favoritism for foreign companies at the expense of American companies is un-American.
And Corker and Vitter and McConnell and McCain. EVERYONE needs to be on message with this today.
I’ve never heard Granholm speak. It looks like you guys have a good one up there.
Shelby is not alone

Where can we hear all that was said or read transcript of Governeur Granholm anyone?
OT – but since Specter is a perennial favorite of the blog:
http://voices.washingtonpost.c…..pecte.html
Shouldn’t Shelby be required to register as a lobbyist for a foreign government?
Bob in HI
Un-American Yes. They are collaborating with Toyotorists…
Yes, she is a good one. She drives the wing nuts cwazzzy.
Time to get the HUAC up and running. We got ourselves some traitors down south. And whats up with Tester?
Granholm will be on MTP Sunday…counterweighted by Carly Fiorina no doubt. Gregory must’ve decided to saturate with guest opiners–there’s more guest pics up at MTP than Brokaw had in the campaign, but FACE has the best “gets” overall–Levin, Sherrod Brown, Corker and Lisa Madigan. Meanwhile Snuffy dabbles in the irrelevant/obsolete with McCain.
ugh. good one. :]
I agree. I heard her speak on the Newshour about a week or so ago and was quite impressed with her articulate intellect. Quite a contrast to another governor of the North of the same gender but different party….
Un-American Yes. They are collaborating with Toyotorists…
where was Barack Nissan Obama born, again? :~)
I’m expecting Bush to begrudgingly announce that he’s making about $6B of the TARP Funds available to GM to get them through Jan. 6th.
But, more important than the size of the Fix, Bush will be Made to Own His Failure of the Auto Industry, along with His Larger Failure of the Financial Sector, and even more disasterously the Greater Economy.
So, $6B of “I’m Sorry for My Incompetent Governance” would be a Good Start on a Long Path to Redemption for the Goopers…
She’s been driving the wingnuts batty up here in michigan since she took office. Working her butt off to do what little she’s been able to do, to do damage control on the mess that Engler left her when she took office. Of course she gets the blame when the Republican controlled state senate obstructs everything up to and including the state budget. (sound famliliar? i though it did!)
the repuglitards are getting a taste of the dregs left in the bush administration cup
how ya like suckin georgie’s backwash there, senator ???
there’s A LOT MORE bitterness left in that mug for you to enjoy
1,854 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen emptywheel and thre Firepup Freedom Fighters:
Does anyone have any info on this “action memo” Ed Schults has been hammerin’ away on that is supposedly from Democratic leadership in the Senate to sandbag the auto bailout in order to triangulate unions right out of politics? It seems to me that those of us out here in the street need to focus on puttin the heat on the DEMOCRATS and get the fuckin leadership in the Senate shaken out completely…One Hung Harry Reid has gotta go and Chris Dodd has a lot of ’splainin’ ta do.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, NOT ALL FASCISTS CALL THEMSELVES REPUBLICANS!!
That’s just sad. Why waste everyone’s fucking time? Like Brokaw bringing on his ranching buddy Ted Turner.
mutherfuckers are all full of shit
Citizen Raven:
It sure looks like we got more work ta do than I thought…butcher right, I can’t think of but maybe 10-15 of the bastards in the Senate that I would allow in the same room with my grandchildren!
But now that the consensus ideology of post industrial capitalism is right out in the open, maybe we ken get our kids back from Iraq, reinstitute the draft and force march a couple of infantry groups right through the fuckin’ New Confederacy and emancipate the workers in those states.
Good ones drational and punaise, I have to Honda to you both. Wish I could a-Ford the time to come up with something better.
Ha, you’d be fighting the emapcipatees!
Bulls-eye, Bob!
Yes, she is a good one. Too bad she was dealt such a lousy hand when she took over from Engler.
Ummmm, okay.
But why on earth they’d be stupid enough to drink that hemlock is still astonishing to watch.
i so agree with everything she has said i have been saying for a long time why does it look like they are selling this country away people need to wakeup i think we really need to ask of these repubs that are against this why were they not against tax money building those buildings in the south for foreign car dealers and if we wind up with over 3 million people out on the street because of them we need to wonder why are we getting rid of all the manufacturing in this country and what cut of that money that is going to different countries over seas what cut are they getting because something smells and i think people who live in those states need to think about the other people in this country because eventually if everyone loes their job but them who is going to buy their product i would not buy a foreign car anymore

I’m not entirely certain how this plays in, but it does somehow:

11 to 15 clients; $17+ billion in assets; a Ponzi scheme registered with the SEC; LOSSES of $50 billion.
Didn’t Sen Richard Shelby, former Chair of the Senate Banking Committee, promote the interests of ‘investors’ who would ‘grow’ the economy?
Heckuva job, Sen Shelby…
So far, I haven’t seen where the UAW cost American taxpayers $50 billion, but perhaps Shelby or Corker can fill me in…
No, it’s even better: she’ll be on with Mitt!
“Th South will rise again.”
It sure did, what a freaking mess huh?
How do you say “Roll Tide” in Japanese?
Maserati loves company…
Happy Honkakkuh and Mazdaltoff!
Granholm is of Canadian extraction, she is smart, articulate and attractive but I dont think she is going to win her next election. Engler did such a great job of fucking up Michigan’s economy for 12 years before she was elected, she gets the blame for everything that is going wrong now. Perhaps Obama ought to pay attention to this, the american electorate has a short attention span.
Mustang, oh, in Paris…
I KIA’d you not.
I don’t like Hyundais.
Alfa better in the morning.
I suggest that appropriate punnishment for these puns is Fordy lashes.
fair enough. I won’t be Lincoln to this thread.
“California here we come,
Right back where we started from.” *G*
I’ll have to Nash this all while I’m Ramblin. Can’t stop now.

Regarding the “ACTION MEMO” that Gettlefinger mentioned today (didn’t listen to Big Eddie today), here’s the link to the transcript, and the item you were talking about:
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRA…..nr.02.html
QUESTION: Mr. Gettelfinger, I know you’ve heard this before. Is there a possibility that there was a master plan that this movement was all part of an effort to oust or break the UAW, to keep them out of right-to-work states?
GETTELFINGER: Well, I’m going to answer that question this way. I have in my hand a document that was provided to us. I’m going to say up front that the “from” was deleted from it when it was given to us and the “to.” It’s an e-mail. It was an action alert called “auto bailout.” It says, and this was Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 9:12 a.m..
And again, I will stipulate that when I received this document, this is the way I got it. The “from” is not there, and the “to” is not there. But our sources, and you understand sources, our sources indicate to us this was put out by staffers on the Republican side of the aisle.
There was another question that was also interesting (my emphasis):
QUESTION: Ron, is there anything that the UAW can do to help them limp into January if they have to?
GETTELFINGER: We did our research department if we work for nothing. You got to remember, we’re 10 percent of the labor cost. If we worked for nothing, it wouldn’t help them limp into January.
The Plantation Caucus are simply lying pigs. (I was a bit more polite in the emails I sent to Shelby and McConnell last night)
