So, why is he so bad? I don’t know much about the guy. I do know about the Marc Rich pardon fiasco, but I wouldn’t think that is necessarily disqualifying (although it is in the realm of the guy has to pay extra to carry that much baggage on the plane…)

Oh, dear… Specter and Grassley are ‘flip-flopping’ on the Rove report, and bmaz and LabDancer are signalling dreadful news on the AG appointment.

On the upside, between Wm Ockham, JohnLopresti, and a few other intrepid commenters around here, the amount of data dug up is just amazing. For all the money spent on GOP Think Tanks, ’tis surely a pity that Specter and Grassley have to sink to quoting Powerline ;-)))
