Relatively OT: Judge H Kennedy a few days ago gave Crew the greenlight on its Bush administration emails restoration case, defeating the administration on each defense. The hitch is the remedy offered is the officials who now are obliged to arrange for oversight of the restoration are bound to develop a collaborative communication to the entity which will manage the process; said entity being MMukasey. The linked court memorandum opinion and order is an interesting read.

Somewhat OnTopic: I forget what it was Leahy was saying, or was about to say, that irked the vice president and elicited that remark which has managed to distill his vice presidency in a single phrase, for the history books, so to speak.

A mite on a prior topic, evidently: The photo above conveys some of the ignominy of the US presidency, as the timeshare tennant who is about to leave walks the next occupant thru, pointing out the screen door that needs repair, and the scuff places in the marble floors to avoid when in house slippers.

Way OT: In the crunch of the McCain campaign’s evasive publicity notices I made a moment to read somewhat into the MS origins, Carroll County, Teoc plantation, in modern times still a community of people who hold reunions. A lot of famous individuals who originated the American music sound called blues lived in Carroll County, some even at Teoc. Strange that the candidate avoided relating to that milieu. I caught an NPR documentary of some of the sounds, an amazing state, MS.
