Well, the time warp idea is right. The Republicans are acting like they’ve just been plunked into our midst from some time before 1960 by the Tardis. Their leaders all like John Wayne, or maybe the Lone Ranger, and the only minorities in the script are loyal sidekicks like Tonto.

The only trouble is that Zorro has raided the set from an adjacent studio …
