Brief and to the point:

ISN’T HAVING HISTORY OF BEING, YOU KNOW, ETHICAL IMPORTANT FOR RUNNING AN ETHICS OFFICE?

Nancy Pelosi and John Boehner have named a group dominated by ex-representatives (including Abner “nobody that nobody sent” Mikva) to run the new Office of Congressional Ethics including Republican former CIA Director Porter Goss who will co-chair the office with democratic ex-Rep. David Skaggs. Recall that Goss was one of the main backers of the USA PATRIOT act which sadly didn’t seem to keep him in Bush’s good graces as the president replaced Goss with Gen. Michael Haydon soon after. Goss was also against a public 9-11 commission. He finally got the boot from Bush after the FBI raided subordnate Dusty Foggo’s office and home and connected Foggo to the Brent Wilkes/Duke Cunningham scandal. He sounds like the perfect guy to lead an ethics oversight office.

This is another example of Pelosi’s unbelievable lack of morals. How could she appoint someone known to be a criminal. One they have nailed for crimes at the CIA and in his other tasks? Why would anyone that isn’t a criminal, nominate someone that works for a criminal?
this is so disgusting that one can only hope she is bounced both by Sheehan, or at least removed from a post that she clearly has no credentials to keep. Traitor.

Oh, didn’t realize this, but they were chairman and vice chairman of the
House Intelligence Committee, Congressman Porter Goss and Congresswoman
Nancy Pelosi, respectively, in 2003, when the JOINT INTELLIGENCE REPORT POST-9/11 was thrown together by the House and Senate. Very cozy. Do you know cozy?

Waterboarding, the big buzzword in torture circles in our nation’s capitol and around the globe, may be relatively new to you.

But it’s old hat to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, according to the Washington Post. An article published earlier today reveals she’s known about it since September 2002, when she was briefed on the new technique as part of a secret biparatisan group.

Former CIA director Porter J. Goss says nobody objected to - or questioned the cruelty of - waterboarding at that time: “Among those being briefed, there was a pretty full understanding of what the CIA was doing. And the reaction in the room was not just approval, but encouragement.”

Due to her position in Congress at the time, Representative Jane Harman, a Democrat from California, also knew about the waterboarding technique while it was in use from 2002-2003; and to her credit, Harman later filed a classified letter of protest with the CIA over her concerns in 2003.

Pelosi, however, has not commented publicly on her reactions to those briefings 5 years ago.
