So why not make them stand up and swear to tell the truth. Why not make them stand up hold up their hand and make it clear that they are required to testify under oath just the way a peasant would? Why not make that clear to the public?

What the hell. Why not? What an example the AG not required to testify under oath. Proving once again there are different rules that these thugs operate under. Another example that there is not “equal justice under the law” in this country.

That was my understanding while reading the comments during AGAG’s testimony, that anyone appearing before a Congressional hearing is under oath, whether sworn in or not, and therefore subject to prosecution for false and misleading statements.

Man, Novak is lucky. The victim only had very minor injuries and he got away with a $50 citation. How is hitting a pedestrian and leaving the scene only a $50 citation??? How???

And here he is, God bless him — he’s raising Arar. After your review, sufficient assurances from Syria that warranted the rendition? Pin ‘im down, that’s right: those assurances had to have been considered by senior officials in the U.S. gov’t.

I don’t believe that has been admitted before. That is important. I’m sure Arar’s attorneys can work with that.

Someone needs to go back and repose the question to Mukasey: you said there coudl be hearings. The next day, Bush invoked absolute immunity. And now you say we can’t have hearings. So does that mean DOJ will conduct an investigation?
