Oh FGS! I didn’t know there were F1 fans here! My hubby is a huge fan. We were watching the canadian race together and I said, oh who is going to crash into someone out of pit lane? and then boom! OMG! 1 and2 inpoints out of the race! Kubica for the win! very very exciting race yesterday.
then the celtics win game 2, too!

finally Jim McKay RIP. He was awesome, the best sports announcer and Wide World of Sports was the best thing on TV back then.

Terrific race. The last (and only) time I rear-ended someone at a red light cost me $500. This may cost Hamilton a whole lot more – like 10 places at the French Grand Prix. How about Massa’s move at the hairpin, where he passed two opponents – That’s why Formula 1 is the best.

I had not heard that about Raikkonen. I thank him for winning a title for Ferrari I guess, but for the most part I would say about the same thing I did when the last “Flying Finn” (Mika Hakkinen) retired. “Oh, he’s gone, gee I thought there was suddenly a little more personality in the circus”. Massa is fine, I am sure the Scudderia can find another driver somewhere to pilot a red car.

OK, I’ll bite. I think that the race starts at 1.00 pm EDT. Environment Canada has a severe thunderstorm watch for Montreal this afternoon, which might make things interesting. Did you see the rumour that Kimi will be quitting after next season?

Agree with your comments about Jim McKay - a class above most sports commentators (e.g. Brent Mussberger).

Nadal slaughtered Federer this morning in Paris - straight sets and Federer only won 4 games - his worst Grand Slam loss. This could be mentally devastating for his future.

Back to watching the European soccer until the race comes on.

Yep, Montreal is not bad for that because of the open stretches after turns. The only thing militating against that a little is that there are, compared to a lot of F1 tracks, not that many turns. One of the links in the post has a layout of the track.

Buh bye Big Brown. Damn. Belmont is just flat tough though. That is what proved that Secretariat was truly a one of a kind different horse; just blew by the field and won going away by 31 lengths. That just doesn’t happen.
