Yeah, it was my favorite team sport. I was defense, and my underhand shot was scary to the point my coaches did not want me to use it on my own goalie during practice. The ball would stay an inch above the floor, broke an opponents ankle, ooooops. I still have my stick on a wall. During the big games, the coach would leave me on the floor all game. The sport that gave me my first two concussions…

As to curling, I was in bed for eighteen months a few years back, and I started to watch curling. Let me tell you(and I’ve already made this joke at FDL), it’s quite exciting when you hear the captain of Canada’s women team, scream to her sweepers: Harrrrd, Harderrrrrrrrrr, HAAAAAAAAAARDERRRRRRRRRRRRR. Hot sport!

bmaz, this is really OT, but I was just reading Frank Rich’s piece on McCain and I remembered that when Bill Clinton left office he put a lot of land under US reserve. As I remember, a good bit of it was in Arizona which set off McCain in one of his bitter tirades. I’m wondering if that’s right and, if so, do you have some local information to share? Thanks.

The odds as you know when you win the first two in the NBA playoffs are huge. My favorite time in the playoffs–Hawks played the Celtics in 1988. My friend got me incredible seats–I sat next to Hollyfield. Rivers was playing for the Hawks and there were a lot of Dominic Wilkins Larry Bird matchups. Rivers played in the NBA Allstar Game that year.

Thanks, I hadn’t seen that particular article, but had seen the national media’s coverage of Dougie’s “exit, stage right” from Georgetown.

I got a chuckle out of the Hoya’s listing of his student support:

Other students are have come to Feith’s defense, however, by starting an online petition last Wednesday asking Gallucci to allow Feith to continue to teach at the university. The petition had collected 46 signatures as of last night.

I wonder if anyone checked to see how many of those “students” were…students. I betcha Dougie got a hold of Paulie Wolfowitz with instructions to “vote early and vote often!” *g*
