It’s very unfortunate that my analysis that these hearings were pomp, circumstance and that most Americans don’t even have Iraq or its inter-relationships on its radar are considered ranting by you. But I’m real familiar with bureaucrats who work for the US government, and when they don’t want to face an issue, or want to deny it, they are quick to call it ranting.

It’s the mantra that Rove, DOJ, and CIA have been changing for some time. It might shock you to know that I have a lot of company that sees no definition by Patraeus, “ah ah ah” Crocker who are simply shills for a deadly and financially hemorrhaging failed policy. Many people don’t consider that position ranting, and coming from a fed–calling anything they don’t want to face or analyze ranting is par.

And just what you expect?

I expected the House and Senate to have the balls to shut down this war years ago.

I hope there will be a draft to shut it down for them.

America’s mortgage crisis has spiralled into “the largest financial shock since the Great Depression” and there is now a one-in-four chance of a full-blown global recession over the next 12 months, the International Monetary Fund warned today.

The US is already sliding into what the IMF predicts will be a “mild recession” but there is mounting pessimism about the ability of the rest of the world to escape unscathed, the IMF said in its twice-yearly World Economic Outlook. Britain is particularly vulnerable, it warned, as it slashed its growth targets for both the US and the UK.

The report made it clear that there will be no early resolution to the global financial crisis.

“The financial shock that erupted in August 2007, as the US sub-prime mortgage market was derailed by the reversal of the housing boom, has spread quickly and unpredictably to inflict extensive damage on markets and institutions at the heart of the financial system,” it said.

Also like the international coverage of the protesters at the hearings.

A confidential draft agreement covering the future of US forces in Iraq, passed to the Guardian, shows that provision is being made for an open-ended military presence in the country.

The draft strategic framework agreement between the US and Iraqi governments, dated March 7 and marked “secret” and “sensitive”, is intended to replace the existing UN mandate and authorises the US to “conduct military operations in Iraq and to detain individuals when necessary for imperative reasons of security” without time limit.

Thought the timing to be worth noting…
