I likes me some Judge Royce. Got to know him when he was handling the Cobell suit. He is very hard headed, committed to playing by the rules and the rule of law, and does not tolerate fools or scalliwags period. Oh, and he is a master of refined judicial snark. Read some of his rulings in the Cobell case, they are classics.

I read the news today oh, boy…

Good news, huh? What’s CREW after here:

A U.S. judge ordered the Secret Service on Monday to disclose records of visits by nine prominent conservative Christian leaders to the White House and Vice President Dick Cheney’s residence.

I got a little more reading to do…

Have you viewed the end of Sen. Dodd’s speech over at C&L? The expression on Dick Cheney’s face was priceless.

EW: You defined the WHORM acronym and Jim W duly revised it, but what does WAVES stand for? If it was in this or a previous post I missed it.

It was duck hunting, wasn’t it? I think DeadEye goes duck hunting when he needs to have a quiet tete-a-tete with his favorite SCOTUS peep; sitting in blind together while waiting for a flush of ducks to descend offers a nice opportunity for intimate chatting.

Quail hunting, on the other hand, isn’t quite as sedentary or intimate — and an easier venue for a shooting accident.

Just hope the current members of the SCOTUS can sit tight until a solid non-Republican majority is elected in Congress, or we’re going to see far too much hunting of any kind for our comfort. Secret Service doesn’t keep records of any kind on members of hunting parties, do they?

I love the thought of Darth and Scalia quail hunting. I wonder who will shoot who?

We need a new FDL/EW term for self correcting replies(SCR) as Peterr and I just did, perhaps something like “let me SCR this to read “Am I a bad person if I would like to search the <strike>that</strike> list for entry and exit times….”
